Get Rid of Chest Acne: The Ultimate Guide

Hey guys,

Welcome to my Ultimate Guide to getting rid of acne on your chest.

Click here for one of the best chest acne cleansers available.

By following the simple steps described below, you can start to notice a visible improvement in just a week and get rid of your chest acne completely within a few months – and it’s completely free (nothing to buy here).

This article is quite long but I urge you to stick with it because at the end you’ll know how you can get rid of your chest acne (and other bodily acne) forever.

This acne-beating method not only works for chest acne but also works for other bodily acne including back acne (bacne), shoulder acne and acne on the butt and legs.

I, personally, suffered from acne on my hips (yeah, I know it’s a weird place to get acne lol) and used this method to successfully get rid of it.

After getting rid of my own hip acne, I passed on my “secret” to a few friends that had acne problems and they, too, cured their acne.

I’m no medical practitioner, so don’t treat my writing as proper medical advice and, if in doubt, consult your doctor.

Neither do I guarantee that if you follow this procedure you will be free from acne – however I do know my technique has a very high success rate based on my own personal experiences.

If you are one of the small number of people that this doesn’t work for, you can find alternative methods at the foot of this article.

What Is Acne?

The techniques that make up my method are quick and easy to apply – you can even start clearing up your own acne today.

In fact, my method is so simple that the biggest obstacle I have is convincing folk that it really works -to be honest I would consider you somewhat naive if you simply took my word for it!

Which is why I have found it useful to explain exactly what acne is before going into the finer details of how to get rid of it.

By understanding what acne is, you will better understand the logic behind the techniques, which will subsequently make it more believable.

Acne is caused when microscopic debris, such as dead skin cells, get caught in the pores of your skin and hair follicles.

These tiny holes in your skin secrete oils, however when they become clogged a blockage of oil occurs beneath the skin. As the oil builds up, it develops into a spot, pimple or zit on the surface of the skin.

These pimples are a great environment for many types of bacteria, so they can easily become infected, which results in them becoming even more red, sore and inflamed.

Because the skin is much more sensitive due to the acne outbreak any friction or rubbing against it results in the skin becoming even more inflamed and sore. This can also cause pimples to burst spreading the bacteria around the immediate and causing more spots to develop.

This creates a vicious circle where acne creates more acne, which in turn creates more acne and as fast as pimples are healing, more pimples are developing – that is until you break the cycle.

So, without any further ado, let me share with you my method on how to get rid of chest acne…

How To Get Rid of Chest Acne

My method for getting rid of chest acne (and other bodily acne) is split into five techniques, which I have conveniently named the 5 C’s; they are Cleansing, Cosmetics, Contamination, Clothing, and Clean Bill of Health (obviously the last one is my poor attempt of getting the word ‘Health’ to begin with a ‘C’ and fit in with the pattern lol).

Technique #1: Cleansing

The first technique you need to learn is how to cleanse your skin correctly.

Take a bath or shower twice a day – no more and no less. Once in the morning when you get up and once in the evening when you go to bed.

The only exception is if you partake in a sporting or athletic activity which makes you sweat. If you do, have a shower straight after you have exercised. If you exercise in the evening or early in the morning, you’re after-workout shower can contribute as one of your twice-daily cleansing routine, however if you exercise sometime in the middle of the day, you will have to have three showers on that day.

When you shower, you should use a mild, non-comedogenic cleanser. I have found this cleanser by Neutrogena to be very good but there are many others to choose from. Look for the words ‘non-comedogenic’ (which basically means it won’t aggravate acne), ‘mild’ and ‘for sensitive skin’ as these will often be dermatologically tested for use on acne sufferers.

Many people believe that a good hard scrubbing will cleanse your skin thoroughly. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case – the harder you scrub, the worse your acne becomes because the friction aggravates it and makes the skin sorer and more inflamed.

The same applies for using washing utensils, such as  scrubbing brushes and rough sponges. Avoid using these. In addition, contrary to what many experts advise, do not exfoliate – this too can irritate your acne.

Instead use your bare hands to gently clean your skin, however make sure you give your hands a good clean with an antibacterial handwash before you step into the bath or shower. This will get rid of any bacteria that may have collected on your hands and stop it spreading to your vulnerable acne.

Be as gentle and delicate as you can when washing the areas of skin that have acne to avoid aggravating it.

Finally, after your wash pat yourself dry (don’t rub) with a soft, clean towel – obviously the ‘patting’ only applies to the areas of your body that have acne!

Technique #2: Clothing

The next technique is clothing – you must start making decisions about what you to choose to wear (at least until your acne begins to clear).

Tight clothing is a big no-no. As you move, it will rub against your skin, aggravate your acne and make it sorer.

Also, avoid wearing clothing made from man-made fibers such as polyester and lycra. These materials can ‘suffocate’ the skin increasing the healing time for your acne.

Ideally, you should wear soft and light (‘light’ as in the opposite of heavy) clothes made of breathable, natural materials, such as cotton.

No matter how much you love a particular garment, if it is made from synthetic fibers or is tight-fitting you need to make the conscious decision to put it away and avoid wearing it until your acne is gone.

You should also ensure that you change your clothes – especially those that are in direct contact with your acne – every day.

Technique #3: Contamination

Something that you need to be very aware of is contaminating your acne with bacteria because it is very easy to do this unintentionally or subconsciously.

Contamination can occur if you touch, scratch or squeeze your acne and can be a difficult habit to break.

The method that I’ve found best to teach yourself to leave your acne alone involves wearing a rubber band on your wrist.

Every time you catch yourself playing with your acne, you snap the rubber band against your wrist and tell yourself not to do it again. The quick sharp pain of the rubber band will reinforce what you are saying into your subconscious and your brain will begin to associate the pain with touching your acne and stop doing it.

It takes around a week of using this method to stop touching your acne completely. In the meantime, give your hands a good wash with an antibacterial handwash as soon as you can after touching your acne.

If you have particularly sweaty hands or touch your hair a lot (like I do),causing grease or oil to get onto your hands, it is also a good idea to wash your hands periodically throughout the day with an antibacterial handwash.

Bacteria can also be spread from your bedding, which collects a lot of sweat, oil and dirt. Ensure you change your sheets and pillowcases at least once a week to avoid contamination.

Technique #4: Cosmetics

At all costs, avoid oil-based cosmetics, especially shampoo, as these can increase the oiliness of your skin and encourage acne development. Look for water-based variations instead.

Technique #5: Clean Bill of Health

Finally, try to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating properly, drinking lots of water and exercising regularly.

Staying healthy reduces stress and strengthens the immune system, which improves your body’s natural ability to fight infection.

You don’t have to be a fitness fanatic or go on 6-mile runs ever day – just watch what you eat and stay active. If you need additional advice about what to eat, check out The Diet Solution website.

Feeling run-down, tired or depressed can weaken your immune system. If you feel like this, you should visit your doctor for further advice or checkout the Stop Depression Now website.

Summary

Thanks for reading this far. Well done – you’re now fully equipped with the knowledge you need to get rid of your chest acne.

I understand it’s a lot to take in all at once, so I’ve created a handy A4 reference sheet that you can print off and pin-up somewhere that you’ll see it regularly (the fridge, perhaps?).

Download it here.

My method has a high success rate but unfortunately does not work for everyone.

If you’re one of the few people that hasn’t had success with this method, I would recommend you consult your doctor for further advice. you may have an underlying medical condition that is causing the acne.

Alternatively, I’ve heard that Overnight Acne Cures and Acnevolution provide some good acne treatments.

Before I sign off, I’d like to thank you once again for reading my guide and if my method helps to get rid of your chest acne, please email me so that I know my website is serving a useful purpose :)

Quick Ways to Get Rid Of Acne at Home

Getting rid of acne is never an easy process. There is just so much information out there that it can be tricky to know where to begin. Then, once you have started with a treatment, more often than not it does not work quite like you had hoped. Treating acne, and treating it fast, is much easier said than done. Today you are going to learn quick ways to get rid of acne that really do work. Rather than being over-hyped, these simple and natural treatments will have your complexion improving in next to no time.

The first quick way to get rid of acne is to use a natural astringent. Lemon juice has proven very effective as an astringent for a large number of acne sufferers, and is also very inexpensive. A few fresh lemons will last you plenty of time, and this treatment will not break the bank or lead to dry and flaky skin if used correctly. Apply the freshly-squeezed juice of a lemon directly to the pimples themselves; don’t just smear it all over your face as this could dry out your skin and actually lead to further breakouts. Repeat day and night until the pimples are dead. When used correctly this is a great way to quickly kill of spots.

Another method of getting rid of acne that works very rapidly is to bathe your skin in salt water. Salt water is a natural exfoliant that helps soften your skin, clear away dirt and oils, and also kill off the bacteria that causes acne. The best way to get your skin soaking in salt water is to go to the beach- there is something about ocean water that has a remarkable and positive effect on your skin. Think about the last time you went on holiday to the beach, your skin probably came away looking a lot better. However, not everybody is fortunate enough to live within close proximity to the seaside, so you can make your own salt water bath by combining sea salt and lukewarm water. It is important to use sea salt, as iodized table salt can actually aggravate the skin in some cases through excessive dryness or irritation. It pays to gradually build up the concentration of salt in the water until you find a level that your skin is comfortable with. Repeat this treatment a few times a week for the best results.

Another quick and natural way to get rid of acne and improve your complexion is to start drinking carrot juice. Carrots are very high in vitamin A and beta carotene; these are two things that are very important for healthy skin. Using a juice extractor, juice up four or five carrots (you can also add apples and oranges to taste) and then enjoy a delicious and nutritious drink that will also help you to clear up pimples and spots. The reason carrot juice is more effective than just eating a lot of carrots is due to the highly-concentrated nature of the juice. I would recommend making and drinking carrot juice at least a few times a week, but once a day is going to do even more good for your skin. As an aside, don’t be alarmed if your skin takes on a somewhat orange tinge- this is a perfectly normal side effect of increased beta carotene consumption (tanning pills actually use this compound)

Avoiding squeezing or picking your spots is another pimple treatment that works much more quickly than you might expect. Although it is very tempting to start picking and squeezing at your spots in order to rid yourself of them, this is the worst thing you can do. What will happen is that you will inadvertently spread acne causing bacteria across your face; combine this with the oil and dirt from your fingers, and you have a recipe for skin disaster. Therefore, no matter how temping it might be to try and pop pimples you have, you need to avoid doing so. This method will pay dividends for your skin in another key way too. Acne scarring is often caused by incorrectly popping or squeezing a pimple, which then leads to skin damage. Avoid this nasty problem by being gentle with your skin.

If you are still struggling with acne after implementing the above methods, and you don’t mind whether you use natural treatments or not, then you should also consider using benzoyl peroxide. This is quite a strong compound that generally comes in 2.5%, 5%, or 10% concentrations. Apply it topically to whiteheads or pustules only until they fade away. Covering your skin in benzoyl peroxide long-term is going to cause dryness and flakiness, and if you compensate by using lots of moisturizing product you will probably suffer from oily skin.

Today you have learned about some effective and quick ways to get rid of acne. Although bad skin can be frustrating and embarrassing, there is still a lot you can do to clear it up. Use the methods above, and be very consistent in their use; quite often inconsistency is a big reason why acne treatments do not work.

How To Wash Your Body Correctly For Chest & Back Acne Sufferers

Hey guys,

NOTE: If you’re looking for my article on how to get rid of chest acne, click here.

Many of the websites you read about getting rid of chest acne (including this one) will emphasize the importance of washing your chest properly, however it may not be immediately obvious how you should go about it.

In this article, I’ll tell you everything you need to know about cleansing you chest correctly to help you to keep your acne under control.

Your Cleanser

Firstly, you need to make sure the soap or cleansing solution that you use is suitable for your skin, which means reading the small-print on the labels.

Ensure the products you use are non-comedogenic. Simply put, this phrase means that it doesn’t contain ingredients that are know to aggravate acne, such as cocoa butter, coal tar and Isopropyl Myristate.

Ingredients that can be beneficial for getting rid of acne include salicylic acid, glycolic acid and aloe vera.

Avoid oil-based products and look out for terms such as ‘gentle cleanser’ and ‘for sensitive skin’ as these have often been tested for use on people with skin complaints such as acne.

Recommended Cleansers: Cetaphil and Neutrogena.

Frequency

When you suffer from acne, it can be tempting to wash as often as you can to try and speed up your recovery.

Unfortunately, over-washing can aggravate your acne further and actually slow down process of getting rid it.

Wash twice a day only – once in the morning when you get up and once in the evening before you to bed. Sometimes, in more severe cases of acne, washing just once a day (in the morning) is adequate.

Be Gentle

When you are washing, be as gentle with your skin as possible to avoid irritation.

Using your bare hands instead of a washcloth or brush is recommended, although it can be difficult to wash your back without the aid of washing implement.

You can use a soft-headed loofah or something similar, but try to be as delicate as possible – or you could even get your partner or a friend to help ;)

Start With Your Hands…

Before you touch your chest, back and shoulders, make sure you wash your hands first either with your cleanser or (ideally) an anti-bacterial handwash.

This will ensure that none of the bacteria that has collected on your hands spreads over the rest of your body.

The water should be lukewarm (not too hot and not too cold).

After giving your hands a thorough scrub, rinse them then gently wash your chest and back with water and your cleanser.

When you’ve done this, pat your body dry with a soft, clean towel – do not rub yourself dry as this can aggravate your acne.

Summary

To wash your body correctly to help get rid of back and chest acne, you should:

  1. Choose a mild, non-comedogenic cleanser.
  2. Wash once or twice a day.
  3. Wash with your bare hands and be gentle.
  4. Wash your hands first with an anti-bacterial handwash.
  5. Pat yourself dry with a soft, clean towel.

Following this advice can help reduce chest and back acne dramatically with around a week, without requiring any additional treatment or medication.

How To Get Rid of Chest Acne

Hey Guys,

In this post, I want to discuss what chest acne is, what causes it and share with you a few simple techniques to get rid of it quickly.

Note: If you have a single pimple or zit, check out this post for a neat technique on how to get rid of a spot overnight.

So, first of all, what exactly is chest acne?

Acne (or acne vulagaris, to give it it’s proper name) is characterized by lumps or bumps (pimples) on the skin’s surface and chest acne is a one or a group of these pimples around the chest area.

What causes chest acne?

Chest acne develops when hair follicles (the tiny holes in the skin that hairs protrude from) become blocked with dead skin and /or sebum leading to a build up of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria.

Each hair follicle contains sebaceous glands that produce oil (sebum), which hydrates and lubricates the skin. When the follicle becomes clogged, the sebaceous glands continue to produce sebum, which adds to the blockage (see diagram below).

Normal Follicle and Blocked Follicle (Acne)

Normal Follicle and Blocked Follicle (Acne)

So, how do I get rid of chest acne?

The techniques for getting rid of chest acne below may take a while to take effect. If you’re looking for a quick temporary solution, you can read how to hide chest acne here.

To reduce the risk of follicles becoming blocked, it is important to keep your skin clean. You can do this by washing with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water twice a day – washing more often will not get rid of your chest acne acne faster and may even make it worse!

Discover the correct way for acne sufferers to wash their body here.

Holding a warm compress (a flannel soaked in hot water) against your chest can help to drain the fluids in the pimples and help them heal faster.

Avoiding oil-based cosmetics is also helpful – you can pick up similar water-based products from your local pharmacy or drugstore.

Do not squeeze the pimples and try to avoid touching your chest completely. If you do find that your fingers have drifted to your chest subconsciously, wash your hands immediately to avoid spreading the bacteria.

Maintaining a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water (8 glasses a day minimum) is also a highly recommended method of getting rid of chest acne as is keeping fit with regular exercise.

Although there is no proven link between your diet and fitness levels and chest acne, it is widely known that healthy people have stronger immune systems, resulting an increased ability for your body to fight off infections quicker.

Wearing loose-fitting clothing on your top half made of breathable materials such as cotton is also advised as this help your chest acne to heal as well as prevent friction that can agitate your pimples.

Try to avoid other types of friction with your chest that can be caused by something as simple as the straps on a rucksack or even lying on the carpet on your front whilst watching TV.

Home Treatments

Many of the products available on the Internet about chest acne and acne in general is utter crap and aren’t worth the paper they’re written on, however there are two products that have received very good reviews from visitors to my website. Although I haven’t tested them myself, I have spoken to a number of people who have had very good results from using them. They are:

  • Louise Griffin’s Overnight Acne Cures
  • Susan Thompson’s Acnevolution

The good thing about both these products is that they offer a full money-back guarantee  - so if they don’t work for you, just ask for a full refund ;)

I hope you’ve found this information useful and if you have any of your own techniques for getting rid of chest acne, please share them below in the comments box :)

How To Get Rid of Spots Overnight

Hey Guys,

Note: If your looking for ways to get rid of chest acne, click here.

Just a quick post today – and I’ll be deviating away from chest acne slightly as I share with you a neat trick for getting rid of spots or pimples on your face overnight. This method is taken from one of my sister-sites: How To Get Rid of Spots Overnight.

WHAT CAUSES SPOTS?
As I’ve mentioned previously, spots are caused when your hair follicles (the microscopic holes in your skin that hairs sprout from) become clogged with debris such as dead skin cells. Hair follicles contain tiny oil glands (sebaceous glands) that produce oil or sebum which runs out of the follicle and lubricates and hydrates the hair and skin. The sebaceous glands continue to produce sebum even when a follicle is clogged, which results in a lump or bump that is commonly called a spot, zit or pimple.

HOW TO GET RID OF A SPOT OVERNIGHT
The following method will either make your spot vanish overnight (in around 80% of cases) or at the very least dramatically improve the appearance of your spot.

  1. Firstly, have a wash with warm water and a mild water-based cleanser.
  2. Next, apply a dab of toothpaste (it must be paste and not the gel variety) and leave for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Then, rinse off the toothpaste and dab the area dry with a soft, clean towel.
  4. Next, dab a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol or surgical spirit onto the spot and leave for 5 minutes.
  5. Finally, go to sleep and by morning your spot will have vanished :)
