Click here for one of the best chest acne cleansers available.
By following the simple steps described below, you can start to notice a visible improvement in just a week and get rid of your chest acne completely within a few months – and it’s completely free (nothing to buy here).
This article is quite long but I urge you to stick with it because at the end you’ll know how you can get rid of your chest acne (and other bodily acne) forever.
This acne-beating method not only works for chest acne but also works for other bodily acne including back acne (bacne), shoulder acne and acne on the butt and legs.
I, personally, suffered from acne on my hips (yeah, I know it’s a weird place to get acne lol) and used this method to successfully get rid of it.
After getting rid of my own hip acne, I passed on my “secret” to a few friends that had acne problems and they, too, cured their acne.
I’m no medical practitioner, so don’t treat my writing as proper medical advice and, if in doubt, consult your doctor.
Neither do I guarantee that if you follow this procedure you will be free from acne – however I do know my technique has a very high success rate based on my own personal experiences.
If you are one of the small number of people that this doesn’t work for, you can find alternative methods at the foot of this article.
What Is Acne?
The techniques that make up my method are quick and easy to apply – you can even start clearing up your own acne today.
In fact, my method is so simple that the biggest obstacle I have is convincing folk that it really works -to be honest I would consider you somewhat naive if you simply took my word for it!
Which is why I have found it useful to explain exactly what acne is before going into the finer details of how to get rid of it.
By understanding what acne is, you will better understand the logic behind the techniques, which will subsequently make it more believable.
Acne is caused when microscopic debris, such as dead skin cells, get caught in the pores of your skin and hair follicles.
These tiny holes in your skin secrete oils, however when they become clogged a blockage of oil occurs beneath the skin. As the oil builds up, it develops into a spot, pimple or zit on the surface of the skin.
These pimples are a great environment for many types of bacteria, so they can easily become infected, which results in them becoming even more red, sore and inflamed.
Because the skin is much more sensitive due to the acne outbreak any friction or rubbing against it results in the skin becoming even more inflamed and sore. This can also cause pimples to burst spreading the bacteria around the immediate and causing more spots to develop.
This creates a vicious circle where acne creates more acne, which in turn creates more acne and as fast as pimples are healing, more pimples are developing – that is until you break the cycle.
So, without any further ado, let me share with you my method on how to get rid of chest acne…
How To Get Rid of Chest Acne
My method for getting rid of chest acne (and other bodily acne) is split into five techniques, which I have conveniently named the 5 C’s; they are Cleansing, Cosmetics, Contamination, Clothing, and Clean Bill of Health (obviously the last one is my poor attempt of getting the word ‘Health’ to begin with a ‘C’ and fit in with the pattern lol).
Technique #1: Cleansing
The first technique you need to learn is how to cleanse your skin correctly.
Take a bath or shower twice a day – no more and no less. Once in the morning when you get up and once in the evening when you go to bed.
The only exception is if you partake in a sporting or athletic activity which makes you sweat. If you do, have a shower straight after you have exercised. If you exercise in the evening or early in the morning, you’re after-workout shower can contribute as one of your twice-daily cleansing routine, however if you exercise sometime in the middle of the day, you will have to have three showers on that day.
When you shower, you should use a mild, non-comedogenic cleanser. I have found this cleanser by Neutrogena to be very good but there are many others to choose from. Look for the words ‘non-comedogenic’ (which basically means it won’t aggravate acne), ‘mild’ and ‘for sensitive skin’ as these will often be dermatologically tested for use on acne sufferers.
Many people believe that a good hard scrubbing will cleanse your skin thoroughly. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case – the harder you scrub, the worse your acne becomes because the friction aggravates it and makes the skin sorer and more inflamed.
The same applies for using washing utensils, such as scrubbing brushes and rough sponges. Avoid using these. In addition, contrary to what many experts advise, do not exfoliate – this too can irritate your acne.
Instead use your bare hands to gently clean your skin, however make sure you give your hands a good clean with an antibacterial handwash before you step into the bath or shower. This will get rid of any bacteria that may have collected on your hands and stop it spreading to your vulnerable acne.
Be as gentle and delicate as you can when washing the areas of skin that have acne to avoid aggravating it.
Finally, after your wash pat yourself dry (don’t rub) with a soft, clean towel – obviously the ‘patting’ only applies to the areas of your body that have acne!
Technique #2: Clothing
The next technique is clothing – you must start making decisions about what you to choose to wear (at least until your acne begins to clear).
Tight clothing is a big no-no. As you move, it will rub against your skin, aggravate your acne and make it sorer.
Also, avoid wearing clothing made from man-made fibers such as polyester and lycra. These materials can ‘suffocate’ the skin increasing the healing time for your acne.
Ideally, you should wear soft and light (‘light’ as in the opposite of heavy) clothes made of breathable, natural materials, such as cotton.
No matter how much you love a particular garment, if it is made from synthetic fibers or is tight-fitting you need to make the conscious decision to put it away and avoid wearing it until your acne is gone.
You should also ensure that you change your clothes – especially those that are in direct contact with your acne – every day.
Technique #3: Contamination
Something that you need to be very aware of is contaminating your acne with bacteria because it is very easy to do this unintentionally or subconsciously.
Contamination can occur if you touch, scratch or squeeze your acne and can be a difficult habit to break.
The method that I’ve found best to teach yourself to leave your acne alone involves wearing a rubber band on your wrist.
Every time you catch yourself playing with your acne, you snap the rubber band against your wrist and tell yourself not to do it again. The quick sharp pain of the rubber band will reinforce what you are saying into your subconscious and your brain will begin to associate the pain with touching your acne and stop doing it.
It takes around a week of using this method to stop touching your acne completely. In the meantime, give your hands a good wash with an antibacterial handwash as soon as you can after touching your acne.
If you have particularly sweaty hands or touch your hair a lot (like I do),causing grease or oil to get onto your hands, it is also a good idea to wash your hands periodically throughout the day with an antibacterial handwash.
Bacteria can also be spread from your bedding, which collects a lot of sweat, oil and dirt. Ensure you change your sheets and pillowcases at least once a week to avoid contamination.
Technique #4: Cosmetics
At all costs, avoid oil-based cosmetics, especially shampoo, as these can increase the oiliness of your skin and encourage acne development. Look for water-based variations instead.
Technique #5: Clean Bill of Health
Finally, try to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating properly, drinking lots of water and exercising regularly.
Staying healthy reduces stress and strengthens the immune system, which improves your body’s natural ability to fight infection.
You don’t have to be a fitness fanatic or go on 6-mile runs ever day – just watch what you eat and stay active. If you need additional advice about what to eat, check out The Diet Solution website.
Feeling run-down, tired or depressed can weaken your immune system. If you feel like this, you should visit your doctor for further advice or checkout the Stop Depression Now website.
Summary
Thanks for reading this far. Well done – you’re now fully equipped with the knowledge you need to get rid of your chest acne.
I understand it’s a lot to take in all at once, so I’ve created a handy A4 reference sheet that you can print off and pin-up somewhere that you’ll see it regularly (the fridge, perhaps?).
My method has a high success rate but unfortunately does not work for everyone.
If you’re one of the few people that hasn’t had success with this method, I would recommend you consult your doctor for further advice. you may have an underlying medical condition that is causing the acne.
Alternatively, I’ve heard that Overnight Acne Cures and Acnevolution provide some good acne treatments.
Before I sign off, I’d like to thank you once again for reading my guide and if my method helps to get rid of your chest acne, please email me so that I know my website is serving a useful purpose
